Sigma Division is looking for a highly motivated machinist to work with existing staff to support component manufacturing in Sigma. The successful applicant will join the Sigma staff to perform manufacturing operations, primarily machining, on a wide range of materials, including some unique special materials with specific hazards (radiation, toxicity, etc.), to produce high-quality components and subassemblies in support of production/experimental programs as well as special projects.

As the Project Engineer for Morton Salt in Manistee, Michigan, you will be responsible for performing technical analyses for implementation or modification of production processes and plant physical facilities/infrastructure as requested by management to assist production in meeting all product quotas and quality while providing for the health, safety and welfare of each employee. Additionally, all work is to conform to pertinent environmental, health and safety requirements and is to be economically cost-effective.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Performs troubleshooting to determine problems and may be required to do corrective maintenance. Completes preventative maintenance tasks according to detailed procedures and schedules. May provide emergency call-in support for operations that run during off-hours. Maintains accurate records of all activities.

Provides technical set-up support for warehouse areas.

Performs equipment modifications, including installation, validation support and start-up, of new equipment as well as decommissioning activities.

Schedule: 1:30 to 10 PM

It serves as the management representative for all applicable areas within Quality and Food Safety to ensure that we satisfy our customers, comply with corporate and local/state/federal legal and regulatory requirements, and continuously improve our systems, processes and culture. Ensures food safety, legality, quality and authenticity of all products produced.
