The job of an EHS professional is challenging on several fronts. Designing and implementing frameworks for risk management, managing and sharing data, assessing potential workplace hazards, establishing controls and training employees are front and center to name just a few. Some say that being successful as an EHS professional is not only a science, but an art as well.
What happens if our hazard assessments are incomplete? What if we don’t recognize the hazards because we don’t see them or indications that they may exist? Corrective actions may never be defined and controls may never be put in place in order to contain them or eliminate them. Workers may never be trained to protect themselves and others from the hazards that exist.
