About The Event

One of the fundamental principles of HOP is: context drives behavior. Incident investigations show us how organizational and psychological factors can encourage behaviors we don't want, but what is the right context for safety? This session will address practical ways safety leaders can create and sustain a context for operational learning, adaptation, and improvement.

About the Presenter: Dr. Martha Acosta is an internationally regarded expert in Safety Leadership, working with organizations such as the National Safety Council, Safety Canada and the National Association for EHS&S Management, among others. She is also a Senior Moderator in Harvard Business School's Corporate Learning division and has been a learning and development consultant supporting governments and global corporations for over a quarter century. In addition, she holds leadership positions on non-profit Boards of Directors. Martha earned a Doctorate in Human and Organizational Learning from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and a MBA in Organizational Behavior from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
