About The Event

With all of the publicity and hype surrounding Generative AI, it is easy to be skeptical, yet at the same time, suffer from “FOMO” (fear of missing out).

This webinar will give a brief overview of Generative AI technologies and their applications.  The presentation format will be followed by a panel discussion from professionals from multiple industries.  They will share their real-world experiences and challenges in implementing these nascent technologies in their organizations.

Webinar attendees will learn that, while there is much hype and overstatement of the capabilities of Generative AI, a carefully developed strategy can indeed help move a business forward.

About the presenters

David Baron - David Baron is the Director of Performance Management & Organizational Strategy at SoCalGas.  His org has verticals including Data Science, Continuous Improvement and an Enterprise Transformation Office.  He earned his undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, and Master’s degrees in Statistics, Operations Research, and Business Administration.  David led a Marketing Analytics consulting practice prior to starting with SoCalGas in 2012.

Kalvin Davies - Kalvin is an inspiring leader with over twenty-five years of experience as a consultant and an HR executive designing tailored workforce strategies, organization structures, and talent processes that enable a company’s business strategy, and then successfully managing the implementation and sustainability of the resulting changes.  He is a strategic thought leader committed to delivering pragmatic and measurable business value while building capability within his own teams. 

Kalvin specializes in workforce strategy, talent management (including succession planning, performance management, and employee development processes), organization design, leadership development, change management, and HR transformation, having led these functions in five companies and consulted to many more. He has also published white papers on the best practices he has developed and used. Prior to his retirement, he co-led PwC’s AI-enabled skills business in the US and was a leader in the firm’s HR Transformation practice.

Rosemary Bernal-Gomez - Rosemary Bernal-Gomez is a seasoned predictive analytics senior advisor with more than 25 years of experience in the utility industry. She is a transformative leader proficient in business operational analysis and organizational change management, having effectively overseen

prominent projects in energy risk management. Her expertise spans cost estimation, predictive analytics, benchmarking, compliance, and process optimization.

Rosemary’s exceptional contributions were acknowledged by Southern California Edison, where she received the organization’s most prestigious award for her pioneering work in predictive analytics, highlighted in Forbes Magazine for her innovative application of machine learning and cultural transformation. Her efforts have significantly contributed to the reduction of serious injuries and fatalities within the utility sector. She was also recognized by the National Security Council with a top honor in innovation award.

JD Solomon - JD Solomon is the founder of JD Solomon Inc., the creator of the FINESSE fishbone diagram, and the co-creator of the Solomon-Oldach Asset Prioritization (SOAP) method. He is a former vice president of two Fortune 500 companies, a former town manager, and the current chair of the North Carolina Environmental Management Commission.  JD is the author of Communicating Reliability, Risk & Resiliency to Decision Makers: How to Get Your Boss’s Boss to Understand and Facilitating with FINESSE: A Guide to Successful Business Solutions.

Rob Stevens - As part of the leadership team at First Analytics, Rob helps companies develop and execute programs to cultivate their analytics competency. He brings experience to bear stemming from thirty years as an analytics professional. His career has consisted of consulting, product development, client service, technical, and sales roles within software, consulting and market research firms.
